Types of Lasers

There are currently four types of lasers used for hair removal:

  • Alexandrite – such as the Candela GentleLase Plus
  • Ruby – such as the EpiTouch or Epilaser
  • Diode – such as the Coherent Light Sheer
  • ND and LP ND Yag – such as the Candela GentleYag and the Altus Cool Glide

Each of these techniques is FDA-approved and proven effective, fast and safe methods for successful hair removal and permanent hair reduction.

Are there any problems with Laser Hair Removal?

Unlike other hair removal methods such as electrolysis, waxing and, of course, shaving, laser hair removal is the most state-of-the-art and high-tech method in removing unwanted hair for longer (and even indefinite) periods of time. It is the only proven method available for easily removing hair from mass areas of the body including back, chest, legs and face. Laser hair removal is effective, precise and cost efficient.

The laser simply and directly pinpoints the root of the hair and removes it from the body. Although the process is precise and beneficial, it can be irritating to the skin — therefore it is important that the surrounding skin be cooled with a gel, a spray or a cooling device throughout the procedure. These cooling systems prevent the laser beam from causing harm or discomfort to the surrounding skin.

What is TRIA Laser Hair Removal System??

The TRIA Laser Hair Removal System is the first and only FDA-cleared laser hair removal system available that uses the same trusted laser technology as the pros and provides the same lasting results - at home. In as few as eight simple treatments, you'll never have to shave or wax again. End of story. WHAT TO EXPECT What it feels like: The sensation is similar to the feeling of a warm rubber band being snapped against the skin. Does it hurt? Some people feel a moderate warming or prickling sensation and some feel no sensation at all. It's important to note that any sensation you may feel will lessen as the hair becomes finer. After 1 month: There will be no visible change to the hair or the appearance of the skin. Be patient - the results are worth the wait! After 2 months: Results. The hair will begin to lighten and become finer. After 3 months: Progressive results. You will begin to see a visible reduction in the amount of re-growth, especially in areas where hair growth tends to be dense, like the bikini line for women or the back and chest for men. After 8 months: Lasting results. Hair follicles that have been disabled by the TRIA System will not grow back. Simply continue to use the TRIA System until the skin is completely smooth and hair-free and then, you're done! How many treatments? Dark, coarse hair: Approximately 6-8 treatments. Brown, fine to medium hair: Approximately 8-12 treatments. The TRIA System is for people with light to medium skin tones and dark hair. Each system comes with a skin sensor so you can test your skin prior to treatment.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is treatment can be used to permanently treat and remove small and large areas of unwanted hair from the body. Best results occur in those with light skin and dark hair, and hair removal works better on coarse hair rather than fine hair.

It's designed to permanently remove unwanted body hair by using the light energy from a laser.Unwanted hair is a common problem in women and men. Shaving, waxing, and tweezing only produce temporary results and can generally only be carried out on relatively small areas.

The area is shaved and cleaned, and an anaesthetic cream applied. The laser then produces pulsed beams of highly concentrated light which is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles, damaging the surrounding follicle.

Costs for laser hair removal from £100, most treatments require 6-8 sessions for permanent hair removal in any one area. The procedure can be repeated at monthly intervals.
